Design Brief

MI Weelz is a company designed to elevate your traveling experience. Thus, the design for their new retail store was inspired by the steampunk airship. As a company MI Weelz holds itself to the highest standard. Particular interest is taken to allow for honesty of materials while still delivering superb ride quality to the end-user. The steampunk airship reflects this in its extravagant yet honest construction. The use of flowing curvilinear forms are abundant through the retail experience; these forms will allow the visitors’ eyes to travel upward through space much like the flight of an airship. Wayfinding through the store will take a circular approach lead by the iron grating on the floor which invites the user to travel deeper. Much like the many moving parts inside of a steampunk airship, movement will fill the store through the use of interactive cogs and touchscreens on the wall. The use of hardwoods as well as metals such as copper, bronze, iron, and steel will demonstrate MI Weelz’s commitment to honesty in materials and construction. The MI Weelz store will look to set the new standard for the interactive retail experience while still promoting quality, comfortable, and honest scooters.
